This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Society teaches us to solve problems by zooming in and focusing on them. Unfortunately if everyone is looking closely at a problem, everyone's solutions tend to have a similar perspective.

Some form of long term multitasking avoids fixating on one particular approach to a creative problem that refuses to offer a satisfying solution. Avoiding frustration, self hatred or obsessing about a missing part of the puzzle has personally been key to maintaining a more efficient use of the creative energy and allowed me to have a bigger creative output.

Being able to work in parallel in many problems allows you to advance in each one and switch when mentally tired or stuck. This in turn creates space for your unconscious to rest, continue gathering new data, incubating new potential solutions and allow you to later approach an old problem with a fresh perspective.

.The trick is to stay cool and avoid obsessing about the urgency to find a solution and approach a problem as if you had all the time in the world. Our creative unconscious is a brilliant piece of machinery and e just need to give it some love and space for it to do its work.
A trick I use to come up with ideas.
Sunday night you are on a deadline and Inspiration isn’t arriving, if you are a professional you will need to learn to force your head into providing solutions whenever you need them.
